Behind the new Artist Showcase (& why The New Architects got the first one)

Every now and then, a submission lands in the inbox that just hits different. I hit play on The New Architects, and before I knew it, I had looped their entire album

Behind the new Artist Showcase (& why The New Architects got the first one)

I started digging into their history and found this crazy backstory: 17 years as a band, a sophomore record stuck in a vault for over a decade, and a massive 2026 comeback.

But when I looked them up online, there wasn't really a single place that did their story justice visually. So my builder instincts kicked in and I thought, let's just try something.

I sat down and started coding. What came out of that is the brand-new Artist Showcase module on Spinlog Mag. And The New Architects are officially the very first to get it.

So, what actually is it? It's definitely not a standard review or a quick text post. It's basically a custom, premium mini-site tailored to perfectly match a band's specific vibe.

  • The Look: We use a massive hero banner and a flexible layout so it feels like an exclusive standalone website, rather than just another article.

  • No Friction: Spotify tracks, YouTube videos, Instagram, Linktree—everything is integrated right out of the box. People can just hit play without hunting for links.

  • The "Personal Note": I built in a handwritten text block for genuine connection. It's a spot for a raw, honest shoutout from me when a record absolutely floors me.

Real talk on how this works Just to keep things 100% transparent right from the start: not everyone is going to get one of these pages. Crafting these showcases takes a ton of time, server resources, and manual tweaking. We literally can't do this for every single submission that comes through the door.

The Showcase feature is going to stay strictly exclusive and handpicked. It's our wild card for those rare moments when the music is so good that a regular article just doesn't cut it.

The New Architects kicked this off and set the bar pretty damn high. Go check out their showcase, blast Hand Grenade Symphony, and support independent music.
