Calico Sun Warms Up the Fretboard on 'Fields'

Sam Bahman tracked 'Fields' out of a home studio he calls The Chalet, cutting guitar, bass, and synth parts himself while a buddy swung by to lay down live drums. Written after leaving city life behind for the quiet woods of Connecticut, the track leads off his full-length record Cosmic Revelations with an easy, unhurried swing at 120 BPM.

The whole tune runs on real amps and roomy analog textures, pulling straight from the breezy psych-pop playbook of Triptides and older Tame Impala jams. It all builds toward the back half, where Bahman steps out of the rhythm pocket to let a warm, singing lead guitar run do the talking right until the fade.
