Dan Lacey Drops High-Energy Metal Anthem 'Daffodil'
A blistering, aggressive rock track fueled by early Metallica vibes and a ferocious, raw attitude.

Welsh guitarist and vocalist Dan Lacey has unleashed his latest sonic assault with the track 'Daffodil', an aggressive, high-energy metal anthem designed for pure catharsis. Following his 2025 debut album, 'Chronicles of the Wolf', Lacey returns to his roots with a uncompromising sound that draws inspiration from heavy hitters like early Metallica, Iron Maiden, and even a touch of Motörhead.
Recorded at Shabbey Road Studios in Caerphilly alongside sound engineer Al Steele, 'Daffodil' features a massive, tight guitar tone sculpted through Lacey's 22-year-old ESP KH-2 signature model and a Blackstar HT valve amp. Minimalist in his setup, Lacey skipped the pedal board entirely to capture the raw power of the instrument. The song's Title stems from the Latin name 'narcissus', telling a story from the perspective of an ultimate egoist.
A standout highlight of the production is the final verse, where Lacey holds a staggering vocal note on a single breath, followed by an organic 'yeah' celebrating the perfect take. If you are looking for a track to fuel your next workout or smash through a brick wall, this is it.
