Ottawa-based alternative rock outfit Four Eyed Muscle Man has stepped forward with 'Non-Stick Fish', marking the leading single from their debut full-length record. Moving past their initial demo EP, the four-piece, composed of Joseph, Joe, Jeff, and Soleil, delivers a tight, soulful sonic blend powered by powerhouse lead vocals. Recorded live as a full band at Montreal's renowned Hotel2tango studio, the track boasts an organic, unfiltered energy that culminates in a brilliant mix of gritty lyricism and heavy indie rock execution.
Beneath the track's driving rhythm and irresistible groove lies a dark, satirical environmental theme. Written as the very first song they crafted together, 'Non-Stick Fish' imagines a dystopian future where rivers are so heavily polluted with forever chemicals that the fish themselves become non-stick. The real magic happens in the last third of the track, where the energy hits its absolute peak. Soleil's powerhouse vocals ascend to a completely new level, colliding beautifully with a blazing, raw guitar solo that sends the song off on an unforgettable high note.
