Granite Skull Steps Into the Unknown on 'Candyglass'
Aberdeen artist Granite Skull returns from a near-quit with an ambient downtempo cut shaped by cosmic weight and quiet hope.

Aberdeen musician had stepped away from music at the start of the year with zero plans to return, only to realize the silence left too much of a void. Sifting through abandoned project files quickly changed that, sparking half an EP centered on stepping into the unfamiliar. Operating as Granite Skull out of a modest home setup with stock Logic synths and vintage educational samples, 'Candyglass' came out of that sudden reboot.
It is an ambient downtempo piece running on a mood he calls cosmic, sad but hopeful. Leaning into a hypnotic, meditative pull, and pulling cues from names like Stars of the Lid and Klaus Schulze, the track aims simply to let your mind drift away from everyday reality for a few minutes.
