Emerging producer and VTuber Nico Nico Nikola has just delivered a fascinatingly unique debut with the 'Electroplankton Instrumental Mix'. Inspired by continuous online study and concentration streams, this project takes a highly experimental approach to Ambient and Chill music by utilizing actual software from the iconic Nintendo DS game Electroplankton, designed by Japanese interactive media artist Toshio Iwai.
Crafting this soundscape was no small feat. Nico Nico Nikola recorded individual clips of the digital plankton, with the elusive 'Lumiloops' posing the biggest challenge. Capturing the audio required booting a completely alternative operating system just to prevent hardware audio tearing. The final result is a seamless, human-created arrangement meticulously spliced into a relaxing experience perfect for studying, chatting, or deep concentration.
