Night Glare Captures Deep Nostalgia and Heavy Textures on 'Nothing, Forever'

There is a specific kind of melancholy that only hits during a lonely night drive, and Chicago-based project Night Glare managed to bottle that exact feeling. The brains behind the project, C.J. Wortel, handles the heavy lifting on guitar, drums, and bass, weaving together a massive wall of sound. His latest single, 'Nothing, Forever', pairs chorus-drenched distortion with quiet, whispering vocals that feel both distant and incredibly close.

Written primarily on a Gibson Les Paul Studio, the track quickly turned into an international collaboration. Wortel reached out to Dutch alternative rock musician R. Vermeulen (from the band Funus), who stepped in to lay down lead guitar parts and guest vocals. The result is a seamless mix of heavy, abrasive textures and dreamy, floating melodies, giving Night Glare a distinct edge in today's shoegaze revival.
