French multi-instrumentalist Pierre-Éloi Bontinck, operating under his solo project Piilou, has unveiled his fifth single, 'Arbre'. Built around the central, poetic phrase 'je suis un arbre' (I am a tree), the track offers a cosmic and contemplative listening experience.
Abandoning MIDI completely, Bontinck played, recorded, mixed, and mastered the release at his home studio. The sonic layout showcases organic sound blending, pairing a delicate kalimba alongside a fuzzy electric guitar. Moving at a steady 84 BPM, the arrangement captures a mixed mood of introspection and raw connection, creating a unique space for listener interpretation.
