Simon Paul Crabb Locks Heavy Tribal Drift on 'People Of The Sun'

Serving as the lead single off his album 'Destroyer' on XA Recordings, 'People Of The Sun' sees Liverpool songwriter Simon Paul Crabb dig into repetitive, ritualistic weight. Working with producer Michael Vindici, the track bypasses typical rock hooks in favor of an unrelenting, low-end crawl heavily informed by Swans and Massive Attack. The pounding drums stay front and center throughout, keeping the rhythm steady and dry while dark guitars build up in the back.

Crabb's vocals sit raw and dry in the mix, delivering sparse lines like 'Mother Milks the Cow. Father Pulls the Plough' with an unpolished, monotonous chant rather than melody. He doesn't bother hiding pitch flaws or using studio gloss to smooth things over, letting the track lean fully into its heavy, brooding pace.
